journal was due yesterday...

monday:
i did some stuff with sound
well, kind of
i did some stuff on the mixer but that just involved changing a bunch of the microphone settings from stereo to mono
then i labeled wireless mics for a show

tuesday:
i called people and asked them if they were interested in volunteering
and then got the kids from the children's museum

wed:
i spent some time with doing sound relating things
i changed the batteries in the wireless mics for the shows
and i helped label wires in the studio

today:
i spend my whole day there because of the matinee
and i helped the kids put on the mics before the show
i helped change the batteries for the day show
i watched it as well as observed the sound guy in the sound booth
then i changed the batteries in the mics for the evening show
then i spent the rest of my time calling the people to see if they wanted to volunteer

i keep forgetting to update

any who,

i basically did 'busy' work
which was typing stuff

then one day, i did stuff with the sound people

and i got the kids from the children's museum
i also cashed money
and mailed stuff

friday of last week and today

friday i vacuumed
and added to that list of business and what not

then today no one answered the door
so i came back to school and did some homework

tuesday the 16th

i didnt do too much
just some research
and paper cutting

i like the sound that the paper cutter makes when it cuts 3 pieces of paper
as odd as that sounds

so i kind of skipped 2 weeks of posting to this

but what i did was...

i vacuumed the seating area and halls
i got a sound recording book
i did some little tasks like getting change at the bank and taking things that need recycled outside
i did research on intercom systems and wikis
and i looked for articles in papers that were about the theater
i helped checked plugs and wires for the sound board
i also went to the childrens museum and brought kids to the theater because they are part of an after school dance thing, and i do that every tuesday and thursday

the 26th

i made a list of the things i've done
what i hope to do
my goals
and what i think i have gained

then i did research for an intercom system

last week::

i just did some admistrative work
like get coppies
go to the bank
and help orgize some stuff
and some reserch
it was a slow week

then yesterday
the 25th
i stayed late
and i got to do alot of neat stuff with sound
and a decent amout with light
it was pretty neat!

wed. the 20th

there was only one person there today [sara]
so i just helped her move her desk and switch draws that folders where in
and hang posters up then do a little research on laminating and poster frames for her
it was a slow, easy day

Tuesday the 19th

i vacuumed, that was boring
haha, but its was understandable because they were having a show that night
then i went down to the sound room with a different sound person that i don't think actually works there, i think his name was john because he had to sauter wires together to form a new one
that was pretty cool
then he showed me all of the soundboards and other equipment and mics and stuff, and i had no idea what any of it meant to did, but it was still really cool

Thursday and Friday

Thursday::
Today i swept and picked up random stuff
because they are having a show thing
and i needed to help clean up
also before that i helped do stuff for the grant they are trying to get because i wasn't there yesterday to finish it
and since i had some left over time at the end i helped type in the show dates for the grant
I'm starting to think that I'm not going to actually be able to do anything with sound fro quite a while [Thursdays are the day i have with the sound guy]
I'm still hope full tho

Friday::
half day so I'm not going to my internship

Tuesday and Wednesday

Tuesday::
i had to look up articles on news paper sites that mention things that the theater did
then i had to start copying flyers and programs for a grant that they are trying to get
that's basically all, it was a slow day

Wednesday::
i didn't go to my internship because i didn't go to school because i was sick

First journal entry

so todays is going to be the first full week at my internship, and the first day i need to keep a journal thing, soooooooo, here we go!

i got to my internship, then Alex gave me a camera and told me to take pictures of the stage/sitting area so he could send the pictures to the band They Might Be Giants, which is a pretty decent band if i may add, although i found out they are also a little kid bad, any who, after i did that i came back with the pictures and then had to go take more at a few more with a different exposure because it was too dark. then i had to make a box thing on photoshop, which was relatively hard because i'm not good with MAC computers.
then for the rest on my time i had to scan paper then put them in folders and e-mail them to him.
and then i went home, AFTER i remind Desi that i needed to send ms. Peck my time sheet, i did that myself, and feel very accomplished!
